Blue Bottle Fly Ring
I've been having a nice time building bugs out of gemstones. This bluebottle fly is constructed from a sapphire, Australian opal, topaz and lava. The ring is solid silver and the blackening in the legs and hairs is a sulphuric patina.
Inspired by shibayama it's a wonderful way of using chipped and cracked gemstones from the studio. Such a fun way to decrease waste in the studio.
Because of the technique used to make these rings no two flies will ever be the same but if you would like to order one similar to this just let me know your size and I’ll put one together for you.
