Blue Mixed Pearls
These beautiful pearls have been collected from Charity Shops around New Zealand. Most of them came as bracelets which were too short to do anything with but I absolutely adore the exuberant contemporary colours so I decided to combine them into necklaces. The pearls are natural pearls that have been dyed after harvesting.
Pearls are such a classical addition to any jewellery collection and they combine beautifully with both vintage and contemporary jewellery. I wear mine all the time and find that they are a great tool for attracting attention to quieter pieces.
Pearls went through a bit of a rough patch recently but I think their reputation for being slightly fuddy-duddy/ grandma-ish, or only for posh people is completely unfair. They are such little bundles of joy and they wear at skin temperature so they always feel perfect.
This necklace is obviously a one off and can never be repeated because of the way it was made- by happy accident”
