Family Tree Birthday Brooch

£1,500.00

One thing you notice is that as people get older it becomes harder and harder to get meaningful presents that aren’t just more stuff that they are scared you have to deal with when they die. I know that’s certainly true with my mother!

She is having a significant birthday this year and I decided to make a set of brooches to celebrate her and all the beautiful people she brought into the world with her big heart and busy womb. The stones in the brooch represent herself, her husband and all of her direct descendants symbolised by the birth stone of each person. We are lucky in our family to have quite a limited array of stones so the brooch has a certain order to it.

The big central Topaz represents my mother, Sue.
Top central a mudlarked garnet represents my nephew, Zac.
Two rubies represent myself and my twin brother Willie.
Fire opals for my father ,Alan and my brother Robert.
Zac is a diamond and opposite him, a moonstone, for Francis.
Peridots stand in for my brother Steven, my sister Sue and my nephew Fenn.

Contact me if you want something like this for your family tree.
